Since long time we didn't had such Extreme Metal Masterpiece out from such lands of Scandinavia, the last I can remember are Dissection "Storm of the Light's Bane", Hypocrisy "The Fourth Dimension", Marduk "Heaven Shall Burn...";.
Couldn't help myself to mention that Devian are a band with truly skilled and talented musicians. Legion is doing here the best vocals in his vast career, simply couldn't be a better Comeback for him. Tomas and Joinus have in fact created some of the best guitar musical structures in this Metal field, in fact impressive Death/Black Metal but always with the best elements of Thrash and classical Metal inflicted in a resulting Smashing Metal Sound, need to mention that Tomas has also done the Bass lines for "NineWinged Serpent" and showing his awesome musical attributes with the Bass. Emil... well what to say about this amazing drummer that wasn't said yet?! He has done here again an amazing work and something once again to impress the metal masses.
Devian managed to create a true Masterpiece in this Metal Genre. A Metal reference for the coming ages, a Crown Jewel in Metal Kingdom.
Devian are all this but much more. So be sure to go to a store near you and check this "MUST HAVE"; Release, a Cult Item for every MetalHead who likes METAL without any Darkening Labels!! Darkness, melody and potency is what you can listen in Ninewinged Serpent, the Devian's debut album. This band formed by Legion (Marduk, Ophthalamia), Tomas (Aktiv Dödshjälp, Charons Nymfer), Joinus (Sargatanas Reign), Roberth Karlsson (Tortyr,Pan-thy-monium) and Emil Dragutinovic (Marduk, The Legion), combines elements of metal such as the darkness and blasphemy of black metal, the speed and aggression of thrash, the ambient of death metal and even the rhythms and melody of heavy metal parts to create a unique sound and metal style that also contains Scandinavian and Swedish metal elements in its music, and its confrontational Legion's lyrics make this album a complete unholy piece into the metal scene that fills all that a metal fan wants to listen.

In Ninewinged Serpent we can hear a totally fresh, new and pure sound with thrashed rhythms, heavy sound and nefarious lyrics united in an organic beast of total blasting Swedish metal. Musician's challenge to create a new sound in this musical genre it's very hard to take, but Devian has managed with this in the best form they could and when you hear the result of this amazing work, you notice it immediately when the album starts with the darkened 'Serenade To The Fallen', and then 'Dressed In Blood' comes raw to your ears. And this doesn't stop while the album is playing, 'till it's over!

Then follows the complete Devian's evil opus with some of the best songs in the album as the already mentioned 'Dressed In Blood' a complete black-thrashed song with melodic parts that leaves a message in its lyrics that mark what follows in the album. Another song is Scarred (which also has a promotional video), melodic chorus in this song mixed with a very heavy-thrash verse riff that leave you complete cold while you're listening it. Then, Gemini is the Snake, with a dark clean intro followed by a slow heavy verse that lead to a very fast riff and a lyric that describes the same Armageddon. Instigator has a very old-school intro and development working with a Swedish metal style that will made you bang your head for sure. Finally we have Ninewinged Serpent, a complete and unholy thrasher n’ Aggressive song with a blasphemous-ridden lyric which close the album in the greatest way they could.

Definitively Devian has recorded an album that is going to change the way to make metal nowadays. Their individual sound will raise them to the top of the metal sound. Also Devian will record a new album soon so we can listen more of this band. Just wait to that unholy moment, every brain will blast!! Rating to this album? I sure give a 10, no less! And if you don't believe this, you should listen the album, it talks for itself. Hails to the new Swedish-Metal Machine!

Well, what can we say about? Only Devian is a good band and Ninewinged Serpent is a really good album, a real jewel... were waiting a new release very soon. We're sure it will be a good job again, or even better.
