Let's hear it.

30 Days of Night

Brutal stuff, just about the bloodiest/goriest movie I've seen since 'Brain Dead'. The acting and plot does leave quite a lot to be desired, though.

Still good, bloody fun. Well worth your time.

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem - it was actually better then the first time. I kind of like the feeling that the preditor's taught us many things. Even though it doesn't go hand in hand with the previous preditor movies hehe.

who cares? 8)

Earlier this week I watched 'No Country for Old Men'. Best movie I've seen in years, hands down.

Great story, fantastic scenery and the acting is just absolutely brilliant.
Javier Bardem is so friggin good in this movie it's not even funny. And if, for some ungodly reason he doesn't get an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, I'll open up a can of whoop-ass on the members of the Academy.

Highly recommended.

We had somewhat of an Arnold evening the other day, when we watched Junior, Cactus Jack, Commando and Kindergarten Cop, all in one fine sweep :)

Commando is by far the best Arnold movie ever in my book; very few films make me laugh practically the whole movie through, but this is most definately one of them.

30 days of night were really crappy if you ask me..
sure the gorestuff was pretty good and the story was okey, but the could have made it much more better..
after about ½ of the film i turned it off because i could guess how it would end, and i had right.

last movie I saw was Zatoichi

The gathering
A very nice story about the curse of the people – the gathering, which beheld Jesus crucifixion. The story is so damn cool but, they never did anything real good about it. The beginning of the movie is just a boring highway until the priests start to dig dipper into the mystery of the Gathering.

The dark
Also a nice story, but to much focus on the less cool things about the movie. I liked the nice twist in the ending though.

The Stendhal Syndrome
A film by the mighty Dario Argento. It was kind of twisted and wicked. I kind of like the story and the actor performance by Asia Argento though, she was really hot in the wig! Killer music score as always in a Argento movie!

true but in the last one are nice special effects and if you saw the two first movies you want to know how it ends ;) Almost all trilogies are like that (except Lord of the rings these movies gets better and better if you watch the third and second one)

Another movie from the Argento box that I bought recently. I were kind of disappointed with this movie cause the sound track was the worst ever in a Argento movie. It featured some nice killing scenes though. I really like the scenes where the killer used an axe. The script had some really nice lines but… it wasn’t as good as a normal Argento movie! Pity.

Of course you wanna know how it ends! But I don’t wanna see a movie just for the special effects. I want to have a nice story and a thought behind everything. It really disappointed me anyway…

Swedish film from 1971 with fairest, most beautiful being that ever has walked this earth – Christina Lindberg. The story and the script were quite meaningless and sometimes it was hard to understand if Lena (Christina Lindberg) is daydreaming or if it’s the real thing. The film includes some famous Swedish actors but it never starts rolling seriously, but every second of the movie is high quality due to Christina’s beauty.

Bee movie
I saw the Swedish version of the movie. After have seen the trails I accepted something totally different. Well it was so so. The funniest thing in the movie was the talk about making a suicide pact.

Argento’s contribution to the first Master of Horror box. I really dig the music, as always in this film. The theme is sung by a child and it’s really beautiful and kind of scary. The story of the movie is really cool too. It isn’t that hard to know in the beginning how the movie will end, but what the hell – that can be awesome too sometimes!

Cigarette burns
John Carpenter’s movie in the Master of Horror box. A very original story in this film, I have never heard of a similar story in my life. I really dig the piano theme too, it’s really sad and haunting. Good story and good atmosphere

Resident Evil: Extinction
Well, wasn’t that thrilling, but some nice effects. In the beginning they are changing camera angle 3 times every second so I got dizzy. Kind of cool development but it never kickstarted.

Stardust
A kind of epic fantasy movie with Michelle Pfeiffer playing an old witch. Robert De Niro is also very good in his role as fearsome pirate. The movie was cute and really brought back my memories of being a child. If you haven’t seen it then I suggest that you watch it!

Homecoming
Another movie in the Master of Horror box. Well it isn’t the best zombie movie in the world but it’s very funny how they criticize the US government in a zombie movie, very funny! Dead solders are coming back to life to vote against a George Bush government.

Okay, I'm the only movie fan in this forum then? haha 8)

Shutter

Bought this movie last week, but due to some regional issues with my dvd-player I couldn't watch it until today.

Asian horror flick about a couple who are out one night, celebrating their friends' engagement. On their way home they're involved in a car accident, accidentally running over a young girl in the process. From here on out things get a little spooky, to say the least.

Strange shapes and shadows start appearing in photos, the couple experience horrifying nightmares and various other good stuff.
It turns out the spirit of girl they ran over isn't gonna let them off the hook that easily, instead she's hella determined to scare and torment them as much as she possibly can.

My expectations going into this movie were sky-high, probably a tad bit too high actually. Because even though it had its fair share of spooky moments - some of which left me quite startled, actually - it just wasn't as good as I had hoped. However, I still enjoyed it, and even though it doesn't offer anything new to the genre as a whole, I'd still definitely recommend it to fellow fans of asian horror.

1½ thumbs up!

Dreams in the Witch-house
This time it was Stuart Gordon, who has directed movies like The Dentist and so forth, to show his contribution to the first Masters of Horrors box. Basically it’s a story about a student that desperately needs to find a cheep place to rent so he can focus on his university studies. After a while he starting to have strange dreams, rat with a human face visit him and says that the witch has chosen him to be her man and puppet.

I liked this movie more the first time I saw it, this was the second time. I guess that ruined my expectations. But it’s still a quite amusing movie and the twist in the end of it is really cool.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I watched the latest Rambo yesterday.
Quite entertaining and the body count was off the friggin charts. The story was pretty 'meh', though.

But who really gives a damn?

The Rambo movies are all about blood, guts and cheesy one-liners, and this one sure as hell delivered just that.

Good times had by all.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Still my favorite movie of all time, that one scene with Carrey and Winslet in the flooded house is pure brilliance.

Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe

Quite possibly the most entertaining show on television, in my opinion.

The last film in my master of horror part one box. Probably the worst one in the first box too. Sometimes it’s kind of funny and cute but most of the time, pretty uninteresting.

The Wax mask
Another movie from the Argento box. Haha looks like someone likes terminator! Pretty cool idea with all the killing and making the victims too wax statues though :)

Well if I well remember the last I've seen was "300" with Gerard Buttler, hahaaa funny that it was also the last one I've seen in the Cinema! Damn long time since I've been there, too busy for that I guess.
It's a really great Epic movie that I like allot, the way of filming is quite artistic and new fashioned but yet the tale has all the hiperbolic exagerations that where used in the ancient times like collossal beasts arrows to block up the sun and stuff allike.
It's a fild shot with new techniques but blessed by the ancient way of telling a tale... pretty good work and cult movie in my opinion!

El Orfanato

Wonderfully told, old-fashioned ghost story that doesn't rely on visual effects to scare its audience. Instead it's all about building suspense by actually telling a story and utilizing the 'less is more' approach; subtle imagery, eerie sounds and creepy yet beautiful scenery.

I love it, this is what horror movies are all about.

A bittersweet life
Sweet brutal action from South Korea. They really know how to make bitterness on the screen. When everything is perfect in your life you do one little error… then it’s suddenly ruined.

Suspiria
Argento + Goblins… nice feeling and I like the witch theme in the story too!

I gave this movie 4/5… Really good and cool dialogues in the movie and I really dig the main character – the good guy. This movie could have reached 5/5 with a more complex and nicer twist in the end!

Nope, not yet. I'm thinking of buying it from Discshop, but I'll have to wait about a week or so 'cause I'm dead broke at the moment.

A movie based on a novel by Stephen King. Usually the movies of King’s novels are kind of crappy in my opinion, but I kind of liked this bizarre and insane movie. It was actually really creepy in a few scenes. In the special Edition version of the DVD you can see two alternative endings too… it would be really interesting to see them too!

The Phantom of the Opera
Well… Ennio Morricone did the soundtrack to a Argento movie… this must be the ultimate bliss or something??? No, it isn’t… the soundtrack is quite poor in this movie. This kind of kinky version of The Phantom of the Opera is okay, but only okay. Asia Argento is hot as hell though!

Mr Woodcock
You smile from time to time… a just okay movie too, nothing more, nothing less

I saw the movies saw 3 and 4 the first time the other day, and I don't think I will want to watch them again.. I currently have the tv running in the other room,
and while I was actually in front of it I was watching a fucking movie with romance
what the hell is wrong with me, I started watching the middle of it
and the son gave his mother a letter from the dad,
she shows up at some ballroom,
and the dad was with another lady,
didn't give the son the note, his lady was so understanding, and told him to go back home with his "knockout wife"
then went back home with mom.
I mean, what the fuck.
what the fuck is wrong with me?

I think I was in that movie for like 2 seconds, I remember driving down Imperial Blvd, in L.A. when the bucket fell down in front of me during that movie.. However, I've never seen it though.. You would find me in a little green rent-a-car a piece of pink duct tape on the back (to cover the rent-a-car logo) with black hair and gold streaks..

I'm watching that sequel on women in jail. I am so Happy I am not in jail anymore. This shit can be quite scary, probably just because after working in a movie store and watching too many horror movies.

Yup, it's great. The one scene when they're "doing the deed" in public is hilarious and absolutely brilliant.

I'm back from the tour and starting to get back in shape in the movie watching as well!

*The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford 4/5... really liked the feeling and it was interesting that it was based on a true story
*Alpha Dog 4/5... this was like the opposite, it was more like scaring that it was based on a true story. How things can go so wrong!
*28 weeks later 3/5 a zombiemovie... and quite nice approch on it

Inside, great French horror. My friend Undead Torment from Diabolos (L.A. band) recommended it. Other movies watched over the weekend were Roscoe Jenkins and Dead Pit. For HermanasMuerte: El Santo fucking rules!!! I will be watching El Mundo de Los Muertos tomorrow.

I didn't like any of those movies cause they just used the same story and did another movie about the same topic, that's lame! Better to do new movies about something else then :)

Yeah, I must agree with you. But when I watch some blank film like this, I can´t think about that, so I can fully relax and escape from reallity, for a little while ;)

National Treasure - Book of Secrets

The first movie is way better... feels just like a repeat of that one. They should have used the concept of the Book of Sercets more to make the movie more interesting!

P.S I Love You

Alright, time to man up. I'm a sucker for sappy "chick flicks", fuckin hell 'The Notebook' gets me every single time. This one however did absolutely nothing for me, pretty crappy all the way through.

Gerard Butler belongs in a man-thong, fighting thousands upon thousands of demonic-looking-Asian-warrior-badasses on a cliff by the ocean. Not in a romantic comedy, just doesn't work.

Avoid!

Definitely, some of the violence in the movie was extremely raw and quite gruesome.

Of course, one could argue if it's an accurate portrayal of what ACTUALLY took place or not. But that's beside the point, I guess. It's just a movie after all, and one hell of a movie, at that.

Loved the first half of the movie, didn't care for the second half all that much. Still worth a watch, though.

Really?

I love the first one - the Japanese version, that is - but haven't bothered checking out the sequel, mainly because of overwhelmingly poor reviews.

It's actually good, huh?

Fantastic. The single-shot sequence towards the end was mind-blowing.

Two thumbs up!

Hot Fuzz - a very poor movie. If it hadn't been for the action scenes in the last 30 min of the movie it hadn't been worth the effort of watching it!

Pretty good, not a huge fan of the voice acting, though.
